During the custom staining process, it is sanded smooth, stained to an optimal level and then set to dry. The custom staining is done by a local stainer with years of experience. This technical expertise shows in the end result. Only quality stains are used. Minwax Wood Finish is the main source with color ranging from the lightest "Pickled Oak" to the darkest "Ebony" tone.

Parawood is the finest wood from the forests in the Far East. It is prized as an "environmentally friendly" wood, as it makes use of trees that have been cut down at the end of their latex-producing cycle. Known for its light and subtle grains, it takes staining very well.
It is also available unfinished so that you can stain, paint or varnish yourself. However, many customers prefer having their Youth Chair custom pre-stained because they don't have the workspace or time. They make a lovely and memorable gift!
